Located just outside Boulder, Colorado, this custom residence engages a fire-scarred site through a composition of three simple volumes that reframe the landscape and restore a sense of place. The siting follows the surrounding ridgelines, stepping outward to capture layered views across the Front Range, the Flatirons, and the distant plains.
Low and grounded at the perimeter, the architecture rises into a dramatic central living space defined by a soaring ceiling and open oculus that draws daylight deep into the home. Interior planning separates living, private, and service areas with clarity, connected through glazed passages that maintain continuous visual contact with the recovering landscape.
A restrained Scandinavian-inspired material palette—natural wood, pale surfaces, and warm, tactile finishes—is paired with precise detailing and careful craftsmanship. The result is a quiet, resilient foothills residence shaped by light, renewal, and long views toward the Flatirons and beyond.
