Blur is a modern custom residence in the foothills above Boulder, Colorado, designed for homeowners whose work as art consultants informed their appreciation for Modernist architecture, minimalism, and thoughtful design. Perched on a steep mountainside site overlooking Colorado's Front Range and the Rocky Mountains, the home embraces a restrained architectural language focused on simplicity, functionality, and a strong connection to its natural surroundings.

The exterior is clad in a glossy metal skin that reflects the changing colors and textures of the landscape while providing exceptional durability and fire-resistant protection suited to the region's demanding mountain climate. The home's design responds carefully to the challenges of the steep terrain, minimizing site disturbance while maximizing views and access to natural light. In contrast, the interior balances the crisp exterior with a warm palette of white walls, exposed concrete, and natural wood. Expansive operable glass walls and carefully positioned windows frame panoramic mountain views and create a seamless relationship between indoor and outdoor living.
