Located within a dense aspen grove in Aspen, Colorado, this modern guest residence is shaped by the verticality, texture, and seasonal character of its mountain setting. A charred cedar exterior and luminous white interior establish a restrained material palette inspired by the contrasting tones of aspen bark.
Vertical battens, standing-seam metal roofing, and precisely detailed wood ceilings reflect the rhythm of the surrounding trees, extending the language of the landscape into the architecture. Natural light fills the interior throughout the day, while expansive glazing frames views into the grove, reinforcing the home’s connection to its site and the surrounding Elk Mountains.
