Design in Bloom '26

Designed by Piché Architecture in collaboration with BKI Woodworks, this sculptural installation reimagines the traditional floral vessel as the botanical element itself—rooted, structural, and alive. Created through a collaboration of architecture, construction, woodworking, and graphic design, the piece reflects the architectural principles of proportion, craftsmanship, and material expression. A solid wood base supports carefully proportioned stem-like forms layered with seed paper, dried botanicals, and other natural materials, allowing the installation to transform over time through natural decay and the potential for new growth.

Created for Design In Bloom, the annual event hosted by Modern In Denver, the installation celebrates the intersection of architecture, art, nature, and craft. For more than a decade, Design In Bloom has brought together Colorado's leading architects, interior designers, artists, makers, and design enthusiasts for an evening of immersive installations, conversation, and community. The 2026 event was held at Workplace Resource in Denver, Colorado.
